CHAMPIONS GATHER—Hall of Fame karate legend, Master Bill Viola Sr. welcomes former World Boxing Champion Michael Moorer from Monessen and special guest Chanel Smith, former Ms. Pittsburgh and now bodybuilding competitor and fitness trainer. Smith, a Duquesne University graduate, now lives in Washington, D.C.
Bill Viola, Black Belt Artist and the mastermind behind the now legendary Kumite Klassic, and his father, Master Bill Viola Sr., a true karate legend and martial arts Hall of Famer, celebrated the 10 year anniversary of the program with more than 30,000 spectators.
As always, the spectacular weekend event showcased some of the world’s top athlete martial artists, fitness professionals and fighters.Champion Enterprises CEO Bill Nreal was inducted into the Kumite Klassic Karate Hall Of Fame.
NEAL IN HALL OF FAME—Pittsburgh Courier sportswriter and Champions Live Sports Talk Show host Bill Neal is inducted into the Kumite Klassic Karate Hall of Fame. Neal trained under legendary Master Jacquet Bazemore. Neal is flanked by Klassic director Bill Viola, right, and sports talk show host Smokin’ Jim Frazier.
Still hosted in Monroeville, Pennsylvania at the Convention Center, the program is recognized as the #1 event of its kind on the East Coast and attracts competitors from around the world in MMA fighting, karate tournaments, arm wrestling, female fitness competition, weightlifting, body building, and product showcasing and display.
